Behind the scenes as we announce our Airbus A350 order at Farnborough

Richard Branson joins Virgin Crew on our new Airbus A350

Today, at the Farnborough International Air Show, we announced a $4.4 billion order to buy 12 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. This was a big day for us and the culmination of 18 months’ work by our Finance, Legal, Engineering, Customer Experience and Flight Operations departments. It also marks the beginning of the entry into service programme which will see people from every department in our company working together to bring this exciting project to fruition.

The big announcement today was the responsibility of our  Corporate Affairs, Communications and Events teams. With Richard, our CEO and a host of important industry figures present there was no pressure! Here we join them, behind the scenes to see how the day played out.
