With its multitude of redbrick buildings and historic architecture, its down-to-earth people and its beautiful waterfronts – whether the Charles River or Boston Harbor – this city has many faces for film. Here we’ve chosen a few of our favourite Boston videos to whet your appetite for a trip to Beantown.
We adore this video depicting a day in Beantown, from sunrise to sunset, put together by Tom Guilmette, the official videographer of the Boston Red Sox. The city’s great landmarks, from the Charles River to Quincy Market, all make appearances.
We couldn’t help but be impressed by this stunning time lapse video, which took more six months to create. It captures numerous locations around Boston, from skyscrapers to harbourfronts, all backed by the moving score from Inception.
Videographer Corey and his wife capture the lively spirit of Boston with this cheerful high-definition video shot all over the city, from the harbour to Park Street Church. We especially love the upbeat Boston-adoring soundtrack by Vampire Weekend.
We’re completely amazed by this spectacle of hundreds of migrating wild geese, which Rick Macomber accidentally captured while he was filming the sunset along the Charles River. The result is, we think, a magical film that combines river scenes and urban wildlife overseen by a beautiful New England sunset.
This high-def video was shot while walking around Boston over a couple of days. The video captures some of the city’s landmarks, but what we really love is its first-person viewpoint, which gives a real neighbourhood perspective on Boston.
