If you’re jetting off to one of our global destinations this summer, you can look forward to a delicious sweet treat in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday.
Ahead of the Queen’s official birthday celebrations on 15 June, we partnered with British confectionery firm The Grown Up Chocolate Company to develop an exclusive English Earl Grey Tea-flavoured chocolate to celebrate the Royal occasion on board our 787 Dreamliners. The special edition chocs exclaiming “Happy 90th birthday your Majestea!” are available in all cabins, and are complemented by a traditional afternoon tea served in our Upper Class and Premium Economy cabins on all daytime flights. You’ll also find them in the Premium wander wall and in the Upper Class bar snacking bowls.
“As a British based airline we’re proud to celebrate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II by offering an English-inspired treat for all our customers,” said Chet Hansra, our Inflight Services Food and Beverage Manager. “We’ve teamed up with British confectioners The Grown Up Chocolate Company to create a twist on the typical chocolate bar by introducing a touch of Earl Grey tea to provide an authentic British flavour.”
The 787 Dreamliner is one of the most technologically advanced aircraft available, with lower cabin pressure, larger windows and cleaner on-board air thanks to an advanced filtering system – all of which can help you overcome the effects of jet lag more quickly.
Our bespoke royal chocolates will be satisfying sweet tooths on board until the end of June, so keep a lookout for them if you’re travelling soon. As you can see, even our crew find the creamy Earl Grey caramel centre surrounded by milk chocolate impossible to resist!
