Eric Lanlard’s Mile High Tea onboard now

By: Dave Gunner

February 22, 2019

Afternoon tea. One of life’s great pleasures. Opulent, delicious and memorable. Eric Lanlard, Master pâtissier. Celebrity chef, multiple award winner, author of several books and Masterchef guest judge. What happens if you combine the two and serve at 38,000 feet? You get our Mile High Tea, and it’s amazing.

Normally, to experience the sublime Eric Lanlard afternoon tea you’d have to visit his beautiful patisserie next to the Thames in Battersea. It’s one of London’s greatest dining experiences. Eric has been obsessed with baking since a child when he earned his nickname Cake Boy, and he learned his craft with the greats of Paris and London. So we’re delighted and super proud that he’s now curated a series of seriously scrumptious afternoon teas just for you. The Mile High Tea is served in all classes and features freshly made rolls and scones. In Premium you also get a macaron and an éclair, and in Upper you get a macaron, éclair and financier. As you’d expect with such high end cuisine, it’s all presented beautifully.

“I am very excited about this new partnership and the opportunity to combine my passion for baking with air travel,” said Eric. “And who better to do it with than a fun, dynamic and iconic brand such as Virgin Atlantic. We’re on a mission to own afternoon tea both in the air and on the ground at the Heathrow Clubhouse.”

So sit back, relax and experience an Eric Lanlard masterpiece – the finest high tea in the sky. And don’t forget the great unwritten rule of travel – diet rules don’t apply when travelling. It’s one we take very seriously here at Virgin Atlantic, especially where our delectable new Mile High Tea is concerned.
