Home of the Moving Image: Our Top LA Movies

LA being the capital of moving pictures, we’ve found it’s not hard to discover fantastic videos of this great city. The real trouble is simply narrowing them down. Here are a few of our favourite LA videos.

“Snow Globe Los Angeles” by All Cut Up Films

This beautifully made video captures LA as it might look within a snow globe. Its stunning night shots of Christmas lights, as well as all the great sights that Los Angeles is so well known for, make this one of our favourites.

“Santa Monica Pier” by Head Shot

The Santa Monica Pier is one of the last amusement piers in the country – and one of our favourite LA spots – and this video captures the buzz of excitement surrounding it. We like that its saturated colour effect focuses on the visitors especially.

“Sightings: Griffith Park” by The Bicinity

Not only does this video capture LA’s famous obsession with fitness in the form of the “Lord of Griffith” bicycle race, but it also shows the beautiful Griffith Park as a happy result.

“One Hundred and Four Seconds in Los Angeles” by mtbville

This often humorous video captures precisely 104 shots of a couple’s trip to LA, from Dodger’s Stadium to the Walk of Fame, and what should be a jarring experience is actually incredibly aesthetic. Ross Measures, we salute you!

“Swinging in L.A.” by Guiseppe Vetrano

Guiseppe Vetrano sets the beaches of L.A. to a chilled out soundtrack of Frank Sinatra’s “Over the Rainbow” and transforms the city into the place where our dreams are made and never broken.
