As a centre of culture, music, sport and architecture, Manchester is a filmmaker’s dream. The local Mancunians are especially proud of their fair city, and the opportunity to catch it in the sunshine is never passed up. We think that, put together, these videos capture the complex vibe of Manchester and its people. Photo: Donald Judge

“Manchester” by David Crausby

In this fast-paced selection of images and icons associated with the city, David Crausby captures the many sides of Manchester – from its famous music scene to its sporting prowess, as well as the streets that make up its whole.

“Hd Slow emo” by Snake Eyes Films

In this video we see the city of Manchester from a skateboarder’s perspective. As well as the undeniable skills of those on the boards, we love how the moody lighting and music capture an honest and raw presentation of the city’s vibe.

“Manchester Summer Time” by Daylight

When the sun comes out in Manchester (and granted it’s a rare occasion), the city really shines. Set to the sound of Elbow (originally from Greater Manchester) this video captures the traditional “Rainy City” at its most stunning.

“Manchester in a day” by Andy Marshall

This timelapse video, filmed from a rooftop location at Piccadilly Place, showcases the city in an almost toy-like way, with incredible close ups of buildings and streets. We especially love seeing the contrast between ancient and modern in the dramatic skyline.
