Starting in Los Angeles, we recently hosted the first of three events in a new series to celebrate the rise of entrepreneurs, inspiring the city’s most brilliant business minds to let their ideas fly and make business an adventure.

Hosted at The Theatre at Ace Hotel – a lovingly restored 1920s movie palace – Sir Richard Branson and Chris Rossi, our Senior Vice President of North America, welcomed 300 guests from the city’s hottest start-ups, incubators and venture capitalists, as well as our own customers and partners including Delta and UK Trade & Investment.

Richard was joined by a panel of ground-breaking disruptors who are living proof that a simple idea can become a global sensation: Miguel McKelvey, Co-Founder, WeWork; Cassey Ho, Founder, Blogligates; Sean Rad, Founder and CEO, Tinder.

Through a series of lively conversations, we revealed what it takes for businesses to thrive in today’s global market, tackling the theme of “Why Simple Solutions Cross Borders”. We had over 1,000 viewers tune into the livestream of the event and #LetItFlyLA rose to be the top trending hashtag in Los Angeles.

Given our roots as a start-up in the aviation industry, it seems like a natural fit to be at the epicentre of an entrepreneurial movement. This unique format also brings Virgin Atlantic closer to potential customers, creating opportunities for us to engage with the next generation of business flyers across key markets.

We’re thrilled to be taking this show on the road, stopping next in Washington D.C. on 26 April and then to Boston later in the year.
