We love WE Day at Virgin Atlantic. What’s not to love about a celebration of young people making an impact in their communities and around the world? Our people volunteer at the UK event in droves. We invite guests from around the Virgin family to share in the day’s inspiration.

But WE Day doesn’t only happen in the UK – they happen in cities across North America. And for anyone who missed WE Day UK, you’ve got the chance to see a broadcast special of WE Day California, airing this Sunday August 28 at 7pm ET on ABC. You’ll see standout performances from Big Sean, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato; inspiring speeches from Charlize Theron, Martin Sheen, Zooey Deschanel and Kermit the Frog (yes, the Muppets came to WE Day); and of course, the incredible young people in California making the world change.

But to go back to the UK for a minute –  OurWE day volunteers always come away from the event not only inspired but with renewed confidence in our future and the generation of children committed to making a difference.

There is also, of course, the opportunity to see some top quality acts and take in a bit of big name celebrity spotting.  In this video, our WE Day roving reporter Gemma, one of our cabin crew, takes celebrity spotting to the next level. Watch as she tries to track down her hero – Professor Brian Cox OBE

Despite the famous names, it’s the young people who raise awareness and money for the causes they care about so passionately who are the real stars of WE Day.

Join the movement!  Take the WE Pledge at WE.org.
