Santa Claus got a helping hand getting his sleigh off the ground today, with a slightly speedier alternative to his usual reindeers – towed behind a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 aircraft. His helpers loaded the hold with thousands of presents and hitched his heavily-laden sleigh to the back of the plane at Gatwick Airport, West Sussex.
As well as helping Santa with his very important deliveries, we’ll be offering passengers a traditional Christmas dinner on flights to and from the UK on 24th, 25th and 26th December. Passengers travelling in Upper Class will also experience a little bit of Winter Wonderland with a themed afternoon tea service including Christmas marshmallow snowballs, Winter fondant fancy cakes and “˜Santawiches’ full of festive treats such as turkey and stuffing or Cranberry and Brie with pear and date chutney. Passengers travelling in Economy and Premium Economy from the UK will receive a special Lindt Chocolate Santa or Reindeer to follow on from their main meal. And we’ll save one for Santa too.
