The 24 February is World Bartender Day so what better time to introduce you to the team who run our Heathrow Clubhouse bar. They’ve recently won the ‘Airport Bar of the Year’ award and their achievement is celebrated in our brand new Spirit of the Clubhouse magazine. Born from our love of cocktails and drawing on our years of mixology experience, the magazine looks at the people, the drinks and the partnerships that make our Clubhouses the award-winning global success story they are. Inside you can meet the Heathrow team, find out who our global partners are (hint: they’re the very best bars in the world), read an interview with the legendary Ryan Chetiyawardana (of Dandelyan fame) and get the recipes for some Clubhouse favourites.
“Spirit of the Clubhouse magazine is a way of sharing the Clubhouse experience with a wider audience,” says our Clubhouse food and beverage manager Mark Murphy. “Cocktail culture is about surprise and delight, and we do cocktails better than any other airline in the world. By partnering with the best bars on the planet, we bring back a sense of occasion to the travel experience. I’m so proud of the team I’ve got working at Heathrow. While drinks are their raison d’etre, it’s the rapport they have with our customers that creates the incredible feedback we get and ultimately wins us the awards.”
Spirit of the Clubhouse isn’t just for our Upper Class customers. It’s a great introduction for everyone to the fascinating world of cocktails, and includes recipes for some of our most popular libations. From the enduring classics to the innovative new drinks created by our team, everyone can delight in discovering the art of mixology and learning the stories behind some of our favourite drinks. That’s the true Spirit of our Clubhouse.
