Even if you wouldn’t call yourself a gambler, chances are, when you’re in Las Vegas, you won’t be able to resist feeding a few dollars into a slot machine or letting it ride at the table just once. While many visitors to Las Vegas come for experiences outside of the casinos, Las Vegas players clubs can be beneficial for all tourists, including those who choose to spend their hard-earned income away from the gaming floor.

As Marc Meltzer of EDGeVegas (Eat, Drink, Gamble, Vegas) explains, “As casinos have gone corporate in the past 30 years, many casino players clubs have moved to a loyalty club model and will reward you for any spending with the hotel.”

Simply put, you could easily rack up players club points just by booking a stay, making a dinner reservation, or doing some souvenir shopping, depending on the program. According to Meltzer, “The more money you spend, be it from gaming to shopping, the better the rewards you’ll gain. Just like a high roller, if you’re a big spender at the hotel you may be offered complimentary items, from meals and nights in the hotel to transportation from your home to the resort. And, yes, that may be a flight and car service from the airport.”

Sounds great, but who wants to run around signing up for and claiming players club cards whilst on holiday? The short answer is, you shouldn’t. Just choose wisely. “Choose the one at the property (or chain) you like the most,” suggests Meltzer. “If you’re going to spend money somewhere, you might as well reap the rewards. If you’re looking for a specific Las Vegas players club then you might want to choose Total Rewards as Caesars Entertainment has hotels and casinos all over the country where guests can earn and use discounts and receive complimentary items as well.”

The scale of choice available needn’t be overwhelming, and doing some research beforehand goes a long way. Many of the players clubs now offer straightforward online sign-up options, including the Total Rewards membership – which means you can enjoy all the benefits on offer without encroaching on your leisure time when you land.
