Last week we wrote about what it’s like to be an expat in Britain, but now we’re turning our attention to the other side of the pond. Are you one of our many expat or resident readers based in the United States? Then read on, because we have an amazing opportunity for you.
The weekend of June 2-3 marks the Queen’s 60th year on the throne of Great Britain. We’re excited about the big day and to celebrate, we’re looking for America’s true “˜H.R.H’ (High-Flying Royal Highness) – the high society party planner with serious social media wings.
Tell us why you’re the go-to party planner. Did your friends attend your 5 a.m. Royal Wedding viewing party? Do you know where to get the official Diamond Jubilee bunting? Show us why you’re the ultimate H.R.H by telling us all about your plans for the ultimate Jubilee street party.
To enter to be Virgin Atlantic’s H.R.H, you need to tweet your entry to us at @VirginAtlantic using the hashtag #RoyalTreatment. We want to know all about your street party idea and how you would involve your friends and social community. We recommend that you create one of the following:
Make sure your network gets involved in promoting your entry! Remember, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate why they are Virgin Atlantic Royalty. The winner will be chosen based on creativity, originality and the ability to bring their block out to mark this monumental event.
Winners will receive a Royal Street Party hosted by Virgin Atlantic on June 3rd, including all the fixing for a proper celebration. We’ll find the venue and bring bunting, party supplies, games and proper British cuisine. All you need do is bring your friends
So if you’ve ever looked longingly down your street wishing bunting was attached to the light posts instead of trainers wrapped on the power line, or ever had the desire to host your 100 closest friends within a few blocks from your home, you’re one entry away from the #Royal Treatment.
And remember, for more British goodness visit BBC America’s Anglophenia blog and the brand new Mind the Gap expat resource, which has just been launched in association with Virgin Atlantic – and just in case you need some extra inspiration, they’ve already written an article about how to throw an authentic British street party. Now, where did we put that bunting?
