Wishing Team Ireland good luck for selection in the 2018 Vintage Air Rally

Team Ireland Waco Biplane

The Vintage Air Rally is one of the most spectacular events in flying. 15 vintage biplanes will set off from the tip of South America on 1 March 2018, fly through 19 counties to a celebratory finish in Florida on 14 April. Apart from being a massive test of the pilots and their machines, the rally flies over some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

Hoping to take part is Steve Clark, one of our pilots, and his teammate Rob Doherty.  We’re hoping to hear soon if their bid has been successful and wish them luck for a place in the #VintageAirRally.

Also lending his support to the team is aviation legend, Dambuster and RAF Squadron Leader, George Leonard “Johnny” Johnson.

Flying as ‘Team Ireland’ Steve and Rob will fly a bright red (of course) Waco Classic open cockpit biplane and we can’t wait to follow their progress on Ruby Blog.

You can find out more about the Waco Classic and see their entry video on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/VintageAirRally/videos/700441463483400/
